Pin down a problem
to mend,
and to heal.
Close your eyes, be with poise, invite calm. Breathe slow and steady, and notice your breath until calm settles in.
·
With intention,
remove sadness.
Let emotions flow
Let thoughts go
Allow floodgates to open
and release
all
sadness.
Close your eyes,
come back to calm.
Breathe slow and steady,
and notice your breath
until calm
has returned.
Take a moment,
and breathe,
in
and out.
With meaning,
remove deep sadness.
Let emotions flow
Let thoughts go
Allow floodgates to open
And rivers to rage
and release as before,
until calm
returns.
·
Repeat from · to ·
Switch sadness with fear,
and fear with hurt,
hurt with anxiety,
and anxiety with stress,
then anything else
one needs to address.
Repeat
one last time
for those with no name,
with no definition,
those hidden,
those shamed.
Emotions will flow
and thoughts will go,
floodgates will open
and rivers will rage.
All are released
as all
is calm.
Close your eyes,
and all is calm.
Breathe slow and steady,
and notice your breath
as all
is calm.

A poem I wrote years ago to help me through a difficult time. Something I thought was so secret to me that I now know must be shared. This poem hasn’t settled on a name yet; ‘Remove’ seems to fit but so does calm, release, but most of all just plain inaudible, illegible silence.
A note on reading: the ‘ . ‘ don’t have pronunciations. They are silence, pauses and stillness. But it can be difficult for us to remove words when we want them to be there, so they can be pronounced as the word ‘pause’ – with lots of space around them.
I’ll work on a reading recording for you. This poem is meant to be lived!
Take care,
Leonie.
